STUDENT PROJECT:
RACING PEDAL BOAT
HYDRODYNAMOSAURUS AUSTRIACUS

Hydrodynamosaurus Austriacus, a racing pedal boat, was designed and built for the XIV International Waterbike Regatta in the spring of 1993 by five students of TU Wien, Gereon Henkes, Thomas Kremser, Felix Recht, Florian Schneeberger and Markus Schneeberger.

Within 4 months a waterbike was built, which is powered by two students, has a total mass of only 40 kg and is driven by two side wheels. The boat shell is made of glass reinforced epoxy and weighs in at only 9.4 kg, being an extreme lightweight structure.
