Research Interests
-
Micromechanics of Materials:
Linear and nonlinear thermomechanical behavior of inhomogeneous materials:
Unit cell approaches, windowing models and mean field methods for modeling
composite materials, metal matrix composites (MMCs), gradient materials, high
speed steels (HSSs) as well as porous and cellular materials.
Special research interest: Effects of phase arrangements in inhomogeneous
materials.
-
Numerical Engineering Methods:
Linear and nonlinear finite element methods in solid mechanics:
Stress and stability analyses, pre- and postprocessing; soft computing in
modeling of material behavior.
-
Biomechanics:
Numerical methods in tissue biomechanics; arthropod sense organs; remodeling of
bone.
