TRAVEL INFORMATION

Arriving by air: From Vienna airport, you can take either a shuttle bus or a local train (line S7) to the City Air Terminal (Vienna Hilton), from where you have access to the subway system. There is also a shuttle bus service to the railway stations (because the Hotel Ibis is quite close to the Westbahnhof, this may be very convenient). Tickets can be bought in the shuttle buses (approximately ATS 75) or in the train station (vending machines, ATS 34).

Arriving by train: Vienna has a number of railway stations. Trains coming in from the west (France, Germany, Switzerland ...) arrive at the Westbahnhof, which has excellent connections to the subway system and, as mentioned above, is quite close to the Hotel Ibis.

Arriving by private car: Once you are on the Austrian Autobahn system, there should be no problem in finding Vienna. Please, note that there are no free parking facilities at TU Wien and that the area around the University is a restricted parking zone (parking fee, max. 90 minutes of parking). There is, however, a parking garage in the Freihaus building (Wiedner Hauptstr. 8-10), that can be accessed from Operngasse (parking fee ATS 33 per hour or ATS 264 per day).

Public transport within Vienna: Vienna has a dense public transportation network (subway, streetcars, buses). Besides single trip tickets (ATS 17), a 24 hour ticket (ATS 40) and the "Wien Karte" (Vienna Card, ATS 180, a 72 hour ticket that also entitles to reduced rates for some other services) are available.

LUNCH

There are various meals in the cafeteria of the Vienna Technical University (from approx. ATS 50 upwards), which is located in the same building as the conference room.

COCKTAIL RECEPTION

On Thursday, Sept.25, there will be a Cocktail Reception hosted by the City of Vienna in the Lannersalon of the Rathauskeller (Rathausplatz 1, close to the city hall in Vienna's first district), which is free of charge.

The total time for invited presentations will be 30 minutes (including 5 minutes of discussion).
The total time for contributed presentations will be 20 minutes (including 5 minutes of discussion).
