Philippe K. ZYSSET

Prof. Zysset has moved to the University of Bern with October 1, 2011.

Please, direct questions with respect to courses formerly taught by him, to the master's curriculum "Biomedical Engineering", to research projects, and to the Biomechanics Laboratory to Prof. D. Pahr.

Professor

Research

Theoretical, computational and experimental biomechanics:
Theory: structural, rigid body and continuum mechanics, constitutive modelling of biological structures, tissues as well as biomaterials, elasticity, viscoelasticity, poroelasticity and damage
Computation: application of algorithms such as the finite element method, linear iteration method or finite difference method for resolution of nonlinear problems in biology and medicine (intervertebral fusion, osteoarthrosis, osteoporosis, vertebroplasty)
Experiments: mechanical testing of biological structures, tissues as well as biomaterials (microtensile tests, nanoindentation, AFM)
